It’s fall y’all

This weekend was probably the peak of fall colors in our area of North Carolina, and it was beautiful! I so look forward to the colorful landscape of the trees making their appearance every year. My parents were here for a wonderful visit this weekend, and we got to take some beautiful drives to Asheville and Bristol and back– perfect Blue Ridge Mountains views!

I have been loving some fresh fall outfits the last few weeks, too, and I’m ready to share some! I feel like I’m always most inspired with fall outfits and trends (although my wallet might say this is a bad time of year!) After a month or two of sweaters and booties, though, I tend to feel like every outfit is a variation on the same theme. So my goal this year is to work on my layering and be a little more creative with the outfit formulas. As much as I love a good sweater, rocking them with jeans or black stretchy pants on the daily can feel a little dull. I’m going to try to incorporate more dresses and skirts with tights and boots this fall and winter as well.

Fortunately, this day was absolutely gorgeous with 50 degree weather, so no tights needed! This sweater has a nice little detail with the button cuffs, but sadly is old from Loft so no longer available. I’ll see if I can find anything similar to link. The sweater skirt and booties are both recent purchases from Target when they were having Target Circle sales, and I love them! The skirt is just so fun and feminine and very high quality! I can’t wait to find different ways to style it. The booties are a great, budget-friendly way to get in on the incredibly popular snakeskin trend, and I’ve been surprised just how many outfits they go with! They are actually incredibly versatile! While they are comfortable for running errands or light everyday wear, I wouldn’t wear them for heavy sightseeing or shopping days when you’re going to be racking up a lot of steps. They are a great value and wardrobe addition, though!
