WFH style

Everyone’s doing it…working from home, you know 🤪 The first couple of weeks, I was wearing the comfy clothes every day, not doing my hair and going mostly make-up free. But you can really only wear yoga pants or lounge clothes for so many days…as good as that sounds. As we learned that we wouldn’t be working from home for only two or three weeks, I realized that it’s better for me to create a new normal and not just feel in limbo. One of the top work-from-home tips I have read is that you should get dressed every day, and for me, that’s true. I teach online or have online meetings or events every day of the week except Saturday, and I have started getting dressed again for “work”—mostly minus my heels!

I love these little heels by BP, which have been marked down more than 50% in the Nordstrom sale! The square toe is so trendy and cute, and the heel height is very manageable and chic. Considering that I’m not wearing heels for a whole day right now, they’ve been very comfortable for the couple of hours at a time that I’ve worn them.

This sweater is probably my favorite Amazon clothing purchase ever, thanks to the wonderful Kendi from Kendi Everyday—whose blog I started following over 10 years ago. I’ve worn this cardigan a million different ways…with cream jeans, black jeans, Spanx faux-leather leggings, and black slim leg trousers to dress them up. The quality is so good, it’s the perfect weight, and it washes beautifully.

These cute spring jeans with the chewed hem are from Abercrombie, which have become one of my go-to places to buy jeans. They run very true to size and come in regular and short inseams, perfect for petites!

Easter parade

Has anyone ever heard the old Irving Berlin song “Easter Bonnet”? “In your Easter bonnet, with all the frills upon it, You’ll be the grandest lady in the Easter parade!” My grandmother used to sing it, and I think I even have her sheet music for it somewhere…

We may not wear Easter hats much anymore, but Easter dresses are one of my favorite traditions that I’ve kept over the years. I was excited because I had actually shopped ahead of time this year for once, and then…Easter shaped up to look a little different. Fortunately, I’ll still get to wear my Easter dress to play for our live-stream Easter morning service—but even if you’re home having brunch this Sunday, you can still make it as special as you would like! Easter is not cancelled—even if our celebrations look a little different this year!

I love all three of these dresses, but I’ll start with this beautiful printed wrap dress. It is a faux wrap so there’s no risk of a wardrobe malfunction, and the fit so flattering! It comes in several colors if the floral print isn’t your thing, and the fabric has a nice weight and feels good. You can’t help but feel happy when you wear it!

This next dress is just so pretty and feminine. The cut is a bit retro and unexpected with the asymmetrical hem, but the fit on this one is beautiful, too! It is easy to wear and very comfortable, and would also be a great office or special occasion dress. You could style this many different ways, but I paired it with some white mule pumps for a bit of a modern and fresh spring look.

This last dress is the perfect Easter mint green. Green is such a trend this spring in general, and I adore this elegant color and cut. This dress is forgiving and easy to wear, so perfect for a big Easter meal ha! It feels lovely and dressy, and would also be perfect for showers, graduations or a wedding guest dress.
